Design
If you are interested in spaces, forms, products, communication processes in their different versions, these are the object of study of designers and architects. The previous topics are diverse in the professional field and are summed up in the design of products, processes or services.
The mental process of the integration of competencies is carried out based on the training orientation that you will find in the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design (CyAD).

What to expect at your admission?
Once admitted, you will take the General Core Courses (TGA) during the first and second quarters. In them, you will explore the initial contents of your training: graphic representation orientation, visualization of forms in space, theory of professional practice and social needs, historicity of culture and design, composition, construction, and design thought from logical assessment, reasoning, and creativity.
From the third quarter on, you will find the Basic Core specific to each undergraduate degree: Architecture, Graphic Communication Design, and Industrial Design where you will delve into the specific knowledge of the discipline.
Design undergraduate degrees last 12 quarters divided into four cores: General, Basic, Professional, and Integration. You can obtain more specific information on each of the undergraduate degrees.
These are four-year programs with the same number of hours of class and practice as a five-year program.

The Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana states that if you have passed the courses during the program, there is no need to take a final exam at the end of it.
The thesis is developed during the student's preparation, it is not an additional process, but rather one that is prepared throughout the training of the student and it requires the close and daily supervision by faculty. This means that when you finish the course load, you will only have to go through an administrative process to obtain your certificate.
Your training at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana is of the highest level, as several studies carried out by renowned national and international publications show.
The UAM, being a public university, has an annual fee of 513.72 Mexican pesos. Additionally, the University offers financial support and scholarships such as: “living expenses”, “members of vulnerable groups”, “continuing studies”, “national and international mobility” or “excellence”, just to name a few.
